Socialite, erstwhile model, Vogue contributing editor, internet entrepreneur, and fashion icon. Lauren Santo Domingo (née Davis) is all this and more, also being the the sister in law by marriage to Monaco’s Andrea Casiraghi and a mother of two. Having built quite a reputation for herself as a fashion editor at Vogue, where she developed friendships with designers like Olivier Theyskens (who designed her wedding dress), Santo Domingo went on to co-found the very swanky online retailer Moda Operandi in 2010 with Aslaug Magnusdottir.
An invitation-only web shop, customers can pre-order from the collections of some of the world’s top designers immediately after their runway shows. By all accounts, the website is a hit, although Magnusdottir has since left the company amid rumors of a rift with Santo Domingo. In 2012, Moda Operandi received an investment of $36 million from LVMH, so that’s not too shabby! With a mind for business and a bod for… well, couture, I suppo se, Santo Domingo is always a vision, all classic beauty and designer duds. Very inspirational, don’t you agree?’
